PURPOSE:To park a vehicle in a parking block by correctly detecting signs provided at the entrance and rear edge positions of the parking block. CONSTITUTION:At the entrance of the parking block, cylindrical bar code signs 100a and 100b are provided and at the rear edge position of the parking block, plane-shaped signs 200a and 200b are provided. At the rear part of the vehicle, two CCD 1 and 2 are provided to photograph the signs. According to the bar code width of the obtained image, an ECU 18 discriminates whether it is the cylindrical bar code sign or the plane-shaped bar code sign, the vehicle is guided close to the entrance of the parking block corresponding to the relative positions of the cylindrical bar code signs 100a and 100b, and the vehicle is completely parked corresponding to the relative positions of the plane-shaped bar code signs 200a and 200b. |
