The tray is provided on a base, which consists of the litter material, based on clay granules, which are designed to assure the hygiene of the small domestic animals, making use of the tray. The clay granules are contained in a package, in carton form (2), which is made up of elements, which are designed to be folded and assembled to make a housing (3), above the litter. The housing is entirely enclosed and it is provided with an access opening, which is fitted with a hinged door (4), to allow the entrance and exit of the animal. The door is fitted in such a way that it stays closed when the animal is inside or outside of the housing.
