Treatment process for solid products where the waste is prejudicial to the environment, in which the solids are thermolysed in a thermolysis zone and the thermolysis gases formed in this zone are extracted. A flow of hot gases into the thermolysis zone supplies the heat and a mixture of thermolysis gas and the hot gases is recovered from the extractor. Installation for carrying out the above process comprising a thermolysis zone (2) for the solid products using heat input, means of pumping (10) linked by an extraction line to the thermolysis zone to keep it depressurised and to extract the thermolysis gases formed therein, and an inlet line (23) for a flow of hot gases into the thermolysis zone carrying the heat.
