Disclosed is a method baded on an algorithm, which enables the reduction of noise amplitude of solid state lasers (for example, Nd-YAG, Nd: YALO, Nd: YVO3, or the like) with an internal resonator frequency doubler (for example, via KTP, LBO, BBO, KNbO3, LiNbO3 or the like). To this end, part of the noise signal is taken out of the laser beam and its effective value determined with respect to a given frequency band. Said value is then processed with an appropriate algorithm and compared with tabulated values. The result is used to regulate the temperature of the frequency doubler, so that the noise signal is reduced.
