Core shroud support plate machining

Part of a core shroud support plate in a nuclear reactor vessel is machined using an electrical discharge machining (EDM) tool by inserting the tool into a previously formed cylindrical bore, machining the shroud support plate and removing the slug from the plate to form a hole in it. Also claimed is a process for drilling holes in a core shroud support plate.
