An apparatus and a method for sequentially selecting a channel is disclosed. The apparatus includes: a key signal receiving unit(110) for receives a channel selection signal from a remote controller or a channel selection key of the main body; a channel selection unit(120) for selecting a broadcasting program channel; a display unit(140) for displaying the selected broadcasting program channel; a microcomputer(150) for enabling the broadcasting program channel to be sequentially selected according to the received key signal and for sequentially displaying the selected broadcasting program channel at an interval of a predetermined time; and a timer(130) for checking the predetermined time.
