<p>PURPOSE:To increase a torque in a total operation area of a V-shaped multicylinder engine by eliminating a nonconformance area of variable inertia supercharge through resonance supercharge. CONSTITUTION:Cylinders 31, 32 of cylinder lines 21, 22 are connected to a pair of disbribution chambers 111, 112 respectively by means of long main intake pipes 121, 122 and short bypass intake pipes 131, 132. The main intake pipes and the bypass intake pipes are changed over to each other by means of pipe length changeover valves 15, 15 arranged in the bypass intake pipes. The communication between the distribution chambers can be interrupted in a large- diameter communication passage 17 having an opening/closing valve 18. The distribution chambers are connected to a collection chamber 21 through resonance pipes 201, 202. The pipe length changeover valves 15 and the opening/ closing valve 18 are operated in engine speed areas different from each other. For instance, inertia supercharge is carried out in a medium speed area and a high speed area of an engine, and resonance supercharge is carried out in a low speed area for compensating shortage.</p> |
