An air-conditioning installation has a housing (11) to form an air channel with one region(33) where air is blasted into the bottom of the cabin and another region (25) where the air is blasted against the inside of the windshield. For heating purposes there is a heat exchanger (13) for the air with a temperature controlling item (17, 18). There is a subdivider 915) for the air channel into two smaller ones, one for each region of opening. Each of these new channels has a fan (6,7). There is something to form a connecting path (36) at the downstream side of the heat exchanger between the two new channels with a double flow mode of operation, whereby the two channels are separated from each other by a partition. The amount of outside air going through the second channel is controlled so as to be more than that through the first channel.
