PURPOSE:To obtain a detergent safe for environments, less problematic in waste water disposal and excellent in detergency and finish by mixing a specified saturated hydrocarbon with a specified ester and a specified surfactant. CONSTITUTION:A detergent comprising 20-90wt.% saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon which boils at 160-280 deg.C and/or saturated alicyclic hydrocarbon which boils at 160-280 deg.C, 5-50wt.% ester of the formula: R1COOR2 (wherein R1 and R2 are each a hydrocarbon group or a hydroxyhydrocarbon group, and the total of the number of carbon atoms of R1 and R2 is 3-18) and 5-40wt.% surfactant of the formula (wherein R3 and R4 are hydrocarbon groups provided that the total of the number of carbon atoms of R3 and R4 is 8-16; n is 2-7; and the sum of n and m is 3-16). This detergent has a markedly high ability to dissolve stains and, when mixed with water, it forms an emulsion and can be separated from the water within a short time. Therefore, water rinsing can be easily performed with the solvent from the object to be washed, and the drain after washing contains a very small amount of solvent. |
