Processing coal and bio materials for burning in coke-fired steam boilers

The coal and bio substances such as wood chippings are made into a heap whereby a layer of coal is loaded and compacted, the shredded bio substance is applied to the coal layer and then compacted and then a further covering layer of coal is supplied. The heap thus formed is then sliced vertically by a known device into layers which are mixed up and supplied to the fuel distributor system. Any possible metal parts are removed before the bio substance is applied to the coal layer. The proportion of bio substance is determined through its layer height in relation to the amount of coal applied.
