MATERIEL AND METHOD FOR PREPARING A PRINTED ARTICLE

A set for preparing a printed item is constituted by a first sheet (1) formed by a transparent sheet (3) with an ink-accepting layer (4) one side and a second sheet (2), formed by a substrate sheet (5) and a viscous or visco-elastic adhesive layer (6) on one or both of its sides. To prepare a printed item from such a set, the first sheet (1) is printed with a mirror pattern of the desired pattern. Subsequently, the second sheet (2) is bonded to the first sheet (1) with its adhesive layer (6) in contact with the printed side of the first sheet (1). The printing is then protected between the transparent sheet and the second sheet, the smoothness of the second sheet is of little or no importance to the quality of the pattern and a printed pattern having a good color intensity and constrast is obtained.
