The sauna or steam cabin has internal walls which are made of wood with built-in furniture for sitting and lying, electric air or wall heating and electric internal lighting provided by a number of light sources (2) positioned behind a screen (1) positioned at the edge between the cabin wall (5) and the cabin roof (4). The screen may be provided by a board at the top edge of each cabin wall, for shielding the light sources, which may be provided by tubular fluorescent lamps with their operating circuits lying on the outside of the cabin.
