Method for manufacturing tubular component

A strip-form semi-finished product (1) made of metal or plastic has weak points in the form of notches or cuts (6) at right angles to its longitudinal extent and spaced along the length of the slotted or closed pipe to be manufactured from it. After shaping of the semi-finished product it is broken at the weak points by mechanical bending. The weak points may extend over the whole width of the semi-finished product with regular and/or irregular spacings.
