An oscillator incorporated into the shelf generates a readable frequency in the shelf plane, the frequency varying depending on the actual weight of the object or the mechanical pressure it exerts on the shelf. A change in object weight is calculated using an algorithm, this change being used to detect the removal of the object or to calculate how much of the object is actually present on the shelf at a given time. An Independent claim is also included for the object detection device. |
