The scooter is designed to be folded up when not in use. It has a single front wheel (3) and a single rear wheel (2). The user stands on treadle plates (7) with roughened pads (7a) which are hinged (8) at their front ends and may be moved up and down to turn especially the rear wheel. The front wheel is mounted in a steerable fork (4) which is connected to a steering column (5) with handlebars (6) at the top. This steering column may be folded back to reduce the bulk of the scooter for storage and transport in a vehicle.
