The drawing punch (18) has a first innermost section (20), and at least one additional outer section (22). The two punch sections are telescopically movable relative to each other in the drawing direction (35). An actuating mechanism is provided for the multi-section punch through which the outer punch section is kept stationary in relation to the inner section during a first drawing stage, and is controllably movable in relation to the nearest inner section during the following stage.
