Mechanism which incorporates a cylinder charged with a viscose product, which accommodates a perforated plunger with a central rod which is housed in a body integral with the plunger, this body having an axial pressure inlet and a radial outlet. A spring, acting on the plunger, is pressurized in the rear zone by a pushing nut mounted without the ability to rotate on a threaded shaft which emerges outside via the rear cover of the cylinder in order to allow its actuation and to give rise to the displacement of the pressure nut, varying the pressure exerted on the spring. The trigger delay mechanism is used in fire-extinguishing installations so that extinguishing product emerges a few moments after the trigger has been actuated. <IMAGE>
