<p>Systems and methods for a secure, confidential, subscriber-driven and updatable Global Electronic Medical Record (GEMR) are provided which is network-based and includes linked subscriber medical information with access limited by network address and password only to the subscriber or an authorized user. The systems and methods are typically used in the medical treatment of subscribers travelling abroad, and the systems include an emblem bearing the network address of the subscriber's GEMR on GEMR servers. The password is provided by the subscriber to the authorized user to access the subscriber's GEMR. In the preferred embodiment, only GEMR server-based subscriber medical information is available to be retrieved, while in the more preferred embodiment, institutional servers or other medical site servers are accessed to obtain additional subscribers medical information to be incorporated in the subscriber's GEMR. In the most preferred embodiment, the GEMR is Web-based with hyperlinks between portions of the subscriber's GEMR.</p> |
