The drainage fitting has a rotary lock mechanism turned by a rotary operating member (2-5) which has a translation through which an operating rotary angle required to open or close the drainage passage is reduced relative to the said rotary angle of the rotary lock mechanism. The rotary operating device has a first operating element such as a single-armed swivel lever (4,5) rotatable about the axis of the rotary lock mechanism, a second swivel lever and an entrainment device (23) for entraining the first operating element with the second. The entrainment device engages on the operating elements at different spacing according to the stagger of the rotary axes.
