The fitting has a pocket (4) into which fits the pressed on end sleeve (16) of the wire rope (15). A pivoted safety catch (14) prevents accidental escape of the rope from the fitting. The fitting is in two parts (1,2), the first part (1) having the pocket (4) to receive the rope and the second part (2) having the fixing shackle and cross pin (5,8) for the lifting tackle. Between the two parts and under the head of the connecting bolt (10) is a roller thrust bearing (9) permitting free rotation about the rope axis of one part relative to the other. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fitting on lifting tackle compensates for twisting of rope without impairing ease of handling. |
