The self-inspection method of a microwave oven performs: a display inspection mode on/off controlling the display in a self-inspection mode in given order to inspect a state of the display with the naked eye; a relay inspection mode oning/offing relay of various loads to activate a buzzer for a test or an LED, etc., thereby performing the inspection with the naked eye, after the inspection of the display; a sensor inspection mode controlling the heating from the first stage of the self-inspection mode to inspect a humidity sensor and a weight sensor for defects, thereby inspecting the sensor; a door sense inspection mode modifying a door sense inspection mode to manually open/close the door, thereby inspecting the door sense; a key inspection mode manually pressing various keys in predetermined order to perform the inspection with the naked eye according to a state of a key indication purpose lamp; an encoder inspection mode displaying the encoder inspection mode to manually turning a jog switch, thereby inspecting the encoder for detects; and an error displaying mode displaying the corresponding defect when the defect in each inspection mode is generated.
