The ultra-centrifugal mill includes a device for cooling the annular zone (7) comprising the outer face (8) of the rotor (4) and the inner face (9) of the grid (screen) (5) by conveying gaseous coolant fluid into the upper part of the zone (7), vertically in line with the said zone (7). Such a mill is used for cryogenically milling heat-sensitive material.
