Computer instrument docking apparatus

The invention is a docking apparatus for docking a computer instrument, such as a spectrophotometer, into an interior of a computer assembly housing. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a sleeve which is adapted for installation into a disc drive port of a computer assembly and is further adapted to receive a computer instrument. The sleeve may have installed thereon a single connector that is interfaced to both power and data transmission terminals of the computer assembly, and may further have a locking device for locking an instrument received on the sleeve in locked position so as to prevent theft of the received instrument. <IMAGE>
