A storage-stable, clear concentrate which, upon admixt. with H2O2, forms a disinfectant, is prepd. by (a) mixing a soln. of an aq. inorganic acid, having pH less than or equal to 1.6 in deionised water, with colloidal Ag, a Ag salt or Ag salt complex in an amt. of 95-105g Ag/l at 50-60 deg., the amt. of acid present being at least equimolar with the Ag, (b) cooling the aq. acid soln. to 25-30 deg. C, and (c) adding an organic acid stabiliser and opt. gelatin. Prepn. of disinfectant comprises admixing, at at least 20 deg. C and opt. under red light, a concentrate as prepd. above with 35-50 vol. % aq. H2O2 at a ratio of 1:99-199 concentrate to H2O2, so that the resulting compsn. has a Ag concn. of 0.01-0.05 wt.%.
|
