The intra-ocular implant comprises a circular optical section (10) and a haptic section in the form of fixing elements (12,14). Each fixing element has a portion (16) to make contact with the inner wall of the eye, and two connecting arms (18,20) to link the ends (16a,16b) of the contact portion to the periphery of the optical section. Each contact portion is a circular arc (C1,C2) with the same centre as the optical section, and with a cord length (C) at least equal to the diameter of the optical section. Each of the arms increases in width and reduces in thickness from the fixing element to the optical section. The implant is made, for example, from hydrogel or silicone. |
