This invention relates to a process for dying a amorphous synthetic resin film such as polyethyleneterephthalate easily and uniformly. The process comprises the steps of: washing the surface of a synthetic resin film with warm water heated at 30-90 C; impregnating the cleaned film in a pretreatment solvent heated at 90-130 C for 10-120 min. to form void; impregnating the pretreated film in a thermal oil in which a dye is dissolved; rinsing out dye and thermal oil remaining the surface of the film; drying the film.
