PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten a burden on a user by making it possible to convert a character string representing date consisting of numerals and symbols into a date in format comprising an English spelling through a converting operation. SOLUTION: When the character string representing the date consisting of the numbers and symbols is inputted to a character input processing part 1, the character input processing part 1 displays it as undetermined characters at a display part 2, and passes the character string to a numeral-character string conversion part 3 after the converting operation. The numeral-character string conversion part 3 analyzes the inputted character string and refers to a conversion table 4 when it is a character string representing a date to obtain a spelling corresponding to a month such as A (Jan., Feb....) or B (January, Feburary...) in the conversion table 4 according to the frequency of the converting operation, thereby converting the character string representing the date into the format (e.g. Jan. 10, 1995) comprising the spelling. The character input process part 1 replaces the undetermined character string with the character string comprising the spelling and displays it at the display part 2. |
