摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the earthquake resistivity by obviating the necessity of the fabrication of a formwork or the arrangement of reinforcement, the assembly of timbering for supporting the formwork, and the disassembling and removal of the formwork and timbering after placing concrete in the case of executing bridge pier enlargements by only concrete placement at site. SOLUTION: The method of executing bridge pier enlargements is such that a PCa beam 2A for forming an enlargement 2 is installed on the top end of a bridge pier 1, and major pillar bars 11 projected from the top end of the bridge pier 1 are inserted in pillar coupling holes 2b made open in a substantially vertical direction beforehand on the PCa beam 2A, and then fixing concrete 25 is placed in a concrete charging space S1 defined by a PCa formwork 24 between the top end of the bridge pier and the PCa beam 2A; finally charging binding material in the pillar coupling holes 2b. In this case, an appropriate selection of low specific gravity or high specific gravity for the fixing concrete 25 adjusts a natural oscillation of the bridge pier.
