PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the ways of touching keys and the ways of key release by the player's fingers at the time of key on and at the time of key off and to reflect these ways in musical tones. SOLUTION: The rear surface of a key 30 is provided with an encoding plate 40 and the patterns crossing the optical axes of a light emitting element 35 and a light receiving element 36 are changed in accordance with the vertical movement of the key 30. The change in the patterns received by the light receiving element 36 are detected by an encoding value detecting circuit and the playing form, such as acceleration of the key on and key off of the player, are detected according to the forms of the changes and are reflected in the musical tones. |
