PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high focusing accuracy with a simple constitution by arithmetically calculating the distance from the output of a photodetector obtained by dividing second photodetectors obtained by adding a photosensor provided adjacently to first photodetectors in which added result becomes maximum to an object. SOLUTION: This range fiber uses a photodetection means constituted of plural photodetectors C1 to C11, and is provided with an adder 54 adding the output of two or more consecutive photodetectors among the plural photodetectors C1 to C11. A CPU 11 collectively controlling a camera decides which two or more consecutive photodetectors output to a maximum from the output of the adder 54. A photodetector group is formed by adding one or plural photodetectors adjacent to the two or more decided consective photodetectors whose output is maximum, the photodetector group is divided to plural photodetector groups, and the distance to the object is arithmetically calculated by the output from the photodetector groups. |
