PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of the display unevenness of Newton rings without the occurrence of the degradation in the luminance of a back light by forming the rear surface of a polarizing plate to a rough surface having fine ruggedness. SOLUTION: A luminance improvement sheet L1 is arranged between a liquid crystal panel PNL and one or two prism sheets and its front surface is arranged with substantially no spacing from the rear surface of the lower polarizing prate POL1 or a tower trans parent glass substrate SUB1 constituting the liquid crystal panel PNL. The rear surface of the lower polarizing plate POL1 disposed on the rear surface of the lower transparent glass substrate SUB1 constituting the liquid crystal panel PNL is formed as the rough surface having the fine ruggedness. Namely, the lower polarizing plate POL1 is stuck to the rear surface of the lower transparent glass substrate SUB1 and, thereafter, a tacky adhesive dispersed and mixed with many spherical silica particles is applied on the rear surface of the lower polarizing plate POL1 to execute coating (antiglare treatment), by which an antiglare layer AG is formed. |
