The present invention pertains to an intermittently operating gas turbine comprising a fuel source and, for air supply, at least one air tank working in conjunction with cylinders which burn the air-fuel mixture by means of an ignition spark. The cylinder inlet and outlet are assisted by control members and gases are speeded from said cylinders into the casing of a two-shaft turbine, where a turbine drives a multiplicator and a compressor turbine drives a centrifugal compressor, the air outlet of which is combined with a mixing tube which leads the air-fuel mixture to the cylinders. According to the invention, the cylinders (H1-H8) form at least one pair (H1, H5;...), a compressed air operating cylinder (17) being connected to the inlet of each cylinder (H1-H8). The compressed air operating cylinder has a pilot piston (21) acting as a control member for triggering, by means of an electric air valve, the cylinders (H1-H8) opening and closing, while the driving electric circuits of the air valve (Sz1-Sz8) and the cylinder ignition circuit (H1-H8) are controlled or regulated by an electric control system comprising delay circuits (K1-K8; E1-E8) for ensuring synchronized cylinder operation.
