<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a data converting device by providing a reference register for holding non-converted data and converted data of a cell header, and converting data at a converting part when the same converted data do not exist in this reference register. SOLUTION: An extracted non-converted VCI is compared with three kinds of non-converted VCI preserved in a non-converted VCI reference register 11. When the non-converted VCI is not coincident with all the three kinds of non- converted VCI, a comparative coincidence detection part 8 outputs a converting part access permit signal, and a converted VCI is provided by inputting the non-converted VCI data of the cell header to the converting part as an address. Afterwards, the VCI of the cell header is reloaded to the converted VCI and a cell is outputted from an output port. Therefore, when the same cell header in the past is inputted, the register of less power consumption is accessed and only when the same cell header is not inputted, the converting part is accessed.</p> |
