RECOMBINANT MAREK'S DISEASE VIRUS AND ITS CREATION

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject virus having a structure in which the gene region containing a repeating sequence in reiterated inverted sequence of Marek' s disease I type virus genom S region gene is substituted with a foreign gene manifestation cassette and useful and a polyvalent live vaccine for chicken, a vector, etc. CONSTITUTION:A foreign gene manifestation cassette is prepared by bending a foreign gene coding an antiinfectious antigen derived from a pathogen except Marek's disease I type virus to the downstream region of a promoter executing its function in an animal cell. The obtained foreign gene manifestation cassette is integrated into a fragment derived from the reiterated inverted sequence of S region of Marek's disease I type virus gene so as to be substituted for a section containing the repeating sequence existing in the fragment. This integration into Marek's I type virus genom is carried out by using the recombinant gene fragment obtained by the above-mentioned method, thus creating the objective recombinant Marek's disease virus useful as a virus vector and a polyvalent live vaccine for chicken capable of inducing immunity against Marek's disease and an immunological reaction against a protein manifested by the integrated foreign gene by inoculation into a chicken.
