PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type liquid crystal panel with which high luminance and high contrast are obtainable. SOLUTION: A light incident side substrate 1 having stripe-shaped microlenses 6 and a light exit side substrate 3 are disposed to face each other apart a firescribed spacing disposed therebetween and twisted nematic type liquid crystals 4 are held between the light incident side substrate 1 and the light exit side substrate 3. The liquid crystal molecules 5 of the twisted nematic type liquid crystals 4 are oriented by having an angle of about 45 deg. with the striped direction of the stripe-shaped microlenses 6 near the boundary between the light incident side substrate 1 and the light exit side substrate 3. |
