PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture processing and inspecting device which can flexibly cope with a specification change and can process pictures at a high speed. SOLUTION: An A/D converter 1 obtains a gray level image by performing A/D conversion on an analog picture inputted from a picture input device 10 and stores the gray level picture in a memory 2. A one-dimensionally arranged data table on which the correspondence relation between each brightness (picture element data) within the full range of the brightness (picture element data) which can be taken by each picture element and binary data '0' and '1' is set in advance is stored in a memory 3. A CPU 4 converts each picture element data of the gray level image read out from the memory 2 into binary data by referring to the data table and makes count up or addition when the binary data is '1'. Therefore, such an inspection process that finds the area of the part having brightness higher than a prescribed level becomes possible. In addition, a specification change, etc., can be coped with easily and flexibly by only changing the data table and the process can be performed at a high speed, because the process can be performed by referring to the data table. |
