PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an automatic vending machine to sell a commodity after confirming the credit-worthiness of a credit card inserted into the machine by using the information stored in the terminal computer of the machine. SOLUTION: A card management center 1 is provided with a host computer 104 and a transmitting facility 4 and an automatic vending machine 2 is provided with a receiving facility 5, a card reader 111, and a terminal computer 110. The host computer 104 of the center 1 outputs the information on the validity/invalidity of the credit cards of the members of a credit company as card information and the transmitting facility 4 of the center 2 transmits the digital data of the card information through radio communication. The receiving facility 5 of the machine 2 receives the radio signal of the card information and the terminal computer 110 of the machine 2 stores the card information required by the machine 2 by extracting the information and outputs a command 'sell the commodity' or 'do not sell the commodity' to the machine 2 after confirming the validity/invalidity of a credit card inserted into the card reader 111.
