PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink for inkjet recording having a high color density and capable of forming water-proofing records having no bleeding on regenerated paper. SOLUTION: This ink composition containing a pigment dispersible or soluble in water in the absence of a dispersant and a glycol ether of one kind or more selected from the group consisting of diethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether, triethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether, propylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether and dipropylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether, which can produce print having extremely little bleeding. Further, this composition can produce high quality images little in bleeding by an inkjet recording method in which the composition is brought to contact with a reaction liquid containing a reactant capable of breaking a state of dispersion or solution of the pigment in the ink composition.
