THE TISSUE CULTURE OF ALOE

The tissue culture method capable of preventing the inconsistent of crop and the imbalance of supply and demand, and inexpensively supplying a mass of aloe, is provided by tissue culturing the callus of aloe vera and generating the root and stem from the aloe tissue. The sterilized aloe vera is tissue cultured to induce callus and then propagated under the condition capable of forming the root and stem of aloe. The induction of aloe callus is conducted by adding food hormone such as M-naphthalene acetic acid or 2,4-D in high salt concentration medium. The added amount of NAA or 2,4-D is limited to a range of 10 to 50 PM and kinetin is further added in an amount below 0.5 PM. Thus redifferentiated aloe tissue is grown to a complete individual in vitro and tranferred into a flowerpot. After two weeks, the individual is transplanted for mass propagation.
