A peptide heterodimer of two non-identical peptide monomers wherein the first monomer is of formula (I): A-R1-R2-Cys-(-R3-)-xB wherein each A is independently selected from H, a protecting group or at least one amino acid residue independently selected from the group of amino acid residues having aliphatic side chains, aliphatic hydroxyl side chains, basic side chains, acidic side chains, secondary amino groups, amide side chains, aromatic side chains, and sulphur containing side chains; R1 is a residue of an amino acid selected from serine (Ser), glycine (Gly), alanine (Ala) and aspartic acid (Asp), R2 is a residue of an amino acid selected from proline (Pro), pipecolic acid (Pec), and isoleucine (Ile), R3 is a residue of an amino acid selected from phenylalanine (Phe), isoleucine (Ile), proline (Pro) and alanine (Ala), x is 0 or 1. |
