PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device capable of reducing power consumption in the case the device is left as power on and immediately returning to the measurable state for use. SOLUTION: If the measuring device (surface roughness-shape measuring device) is left without any operation for a predetermined time as power is on, the power of back light (LCD back light 34) of LCD 32 becomes an off-state to be a sleep state. However the power of an analog detection circuit (differential transformer of pickup 10) maintains on-state even in the sleep state. By this, even if the device is left as power on, power consumption is kept small and measurement can be restarted immediately in the case of reuse of the device. |
