PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the detection and evaluation of foreign substance and/or discoloration through a simple technique in a spinning preparation apparatus. SOLUTION: In a blowing and scutching machinery, foreign substance such as pieces of woven fabrics, bands, strings or foil pieces in the fiber material taken out of a fiber bale connected to the front part by a bale breaker are detected and evaluated. In order to detect foreign substances, cameras 15, 16 are connected to the rear part as an optical sensing system and to the image processor 32. Each bale in a raw of bales is detected on its present location, while the image processor 32 knows the brightness and/or the dirtiness and/or the color thereby assigning the brightness and/or the dirtiness and/or the color to the opened bale. |
