PURPOSE: To provide a battery box in which a battery is difficult to slip out, and the insertion and removal of the battery is facilitated. CONSTITUTION: The housing space S for batteries 3 in a cage 2 has an opening 4. The opening 4 has an openable and closable lid body 5. A battery receiving part 6 in the housing space S has a pair of inclined parts 7. The inclined parts 7 have inclined surfaces inclined down toward the center of the opening 5. The batteries 3 are held in series thereon. The central line of the batteries 3 is protruded to the inside of the cage 2. A contact member 9 makes contact with the batteries 3 in the part closer to the lid body 5 from the central line of the batteries 3. A force in the direction separating from the lid body 5 and directing into the cage 2 is worked on the batteries 3 to press the batteries 3 onto the holding surfaces 7a of the inclined parts 7. The batteries 3 housed in a battery box 1 are inclined and held in the battery receiving part 6 in the state pressed to the inclined parts 7 by the contact member 9. When the lid body 5 is opened, the batteries 3 in the cage 2 are never sprung out. Since the opening 4 is large, the insertion of the batteries 3 is facilitated. |
