PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline storage battery of which discharging capacity is prevented from lowering even when left for a longer period or under higher temperature through the improvement of its paste nickel positive electrode. SOLUTION: An alkaline storage battery comprises a positive electrode 2, a negative electrode 4, a separator 3 interposed between the positive electrode 2 and the negative electrode 4, and an alkaline electrolyte. The positive electrode 2 carries on its collector a positive material which is formed at its surface with a conductive layer including a cobalt compound and which includes nickel hydroxide particles, and has pores of diameters from 0.0001μm to 10μm. |
