<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a plug part for an optical connector that a protective flap receives spring load not only within a range of pivotal motion but over the complete range of sliding motion as well until a closed position is attained. SOLUTION: The plug part has a plug casing 2. At least one connector pins 3 are held in this plug casing 2 and the protective flap 4 for protecting the connector pins 3 is brought into pressurized contact with the surface 7 of the plug casing 2 by receiving the tension of a spring. The protective flap 4 is so disposed as to move pivotally and slide along a nearly rectilinear guide passage 5 and, therefore, if the plug part is inserted into a sleeve part, the protective flap 4 is able to move from the close position existing on the surface of the plug casing 2 to the open position receding from the surface. The compression spring 8 is disposed in the plug casing 2 in a relation nearly parallel with the guide passage 5 and, therefore, the spring comes into direct or indirect contact with the protective flap 4 above the plane of the guide passage 5 between the close position and open position.</p> |
