PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear shifting pressure control device for an automatic transmission to decide a gear shift pressure so that torque higher than a torque fluctuation during gear shifting is prevented from being transmitted to wheels. SOLUTION: In a controller 200, a transmission output torque TO transmitted from a stepped automatic transmission 2 to wheels 4 during traction control is considered to be the grip limit of a wheel 4. During gear shifting, a line pressure PL to operate a gear shift clutch is controlled to a clutch pressure limit value PC(lim) computed by torque TO and a gear ratio i2 after gear shifting, whereby a problem wherein the wheels 4 are slipped due to a torque fluctuation occasioned by gear shifting and behavior of a vehicle is rendered unstable is prevented from occurring. |
