<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a face and to improve weight distribution by forming the face plate to be attached to a head body of an aluminum- beryllium alloy. SOLUTION: The front surface of the head body 6 is provided with a recessed part 7 and the face plate 9 is fixed to this part, by which the face 8 of the head 1 is formed. The head body 6 is formed of materials, such as beryllium copper alloy or iron like stainless steel, etc., having a large sp, gr. The face plate 9 is formed of the aluminum-beryllium alloy to a flat planar shape. At least either of the peripheral edge 10 of the face plate 9 and the peripheral edge of the recessed part 7 is formed slightly larger than the recessed part 7 in the state of previously forming the rear side widths A, B wider. The face plate 9 of about 2 to 6mm thickness C is press fitted and fixed by a press, etc., into the recessed part 7. A projecting part 12 is formed on the rear surface of the head body 6 to enclose the face plate 9. As a result, the face plate 9 is made lighter and the projecting part 12 is made formable correspondingly thicker. The more weight is thus distributed to the circumference of the centroid G, by which the expansion of a sweet spot is made possible.</p> |
