A mixture of Al2O3, Cr2O3 1-3wt.% as coloring agent, TiO2 0.5-1.5wt.%, CoO 0.3-2.0wt.%, and small quantity of SiO2, CaO and MgO as sintering aids is used for manufacturing colored alumina ceramic without decreasing the electric properties of ceramic. The mixed powder is blended with ethanol 50wt.% as solvent, and organic compound 10wt.% such as polyvinyl butyral as binder, butylbenzyl phthalate as plasticizer, and dispersion agent and ball-milled to make sludge, then casted as 0.6mm green sheet by using doctor blade method, followed by sintering at 1600deg.C for 2 hours in the presence of mixed gas of hydrogen and nitrogen. This ceramic composition is useful as the insulator for electronics parts.
