<p>The invention concerns a system for and a method of three dimensional tracking to establish the three dimensional position and/or orientation of an object to be tracked. The method includes the steps of transmitting pulses between a pulse emitter/receiver (24) and a trackable devie (26) associated with the object to be tracked, utilizing lock on and follow means (24, 13, 14) and ranging means (24, 20). The pan/tilt angles between and the distance between the emitter/receiver (24) and the device (26) are obtained for each pulse and the three dimensional position/orientation is calculated for this data.</p> |
