Replaceable reagent contact elements (10) are disclosed. The elements are designed for use in a bio-polymer synthesizing device and may be used to synthesize oligonucleotides, polypeptides and other bio-polymers. The elements (10) are particularly useful for the simultaneous synthesis of a number of biopolymers of the same or different sequence.
